Healthscope is an international company and leading national provider of private healthcare that owns and operates hospitals, pathology and medical centres throughout Australia.
Our reach of 45 owned hospital facilities throughout Australia and 3 additional hospitals managed for the Adelaide Health Care Alliance group (ACHA) places us as the second largest private hospital provider in Australia.
We operate an internationally renowned pathology business with over 60 laboratories located throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia. In Australia the pathology business of Healthscope previously traded under different names in different states. In Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania the trading name was Gribbles Pathology, NSW traded as Davies Campbell de Lambert, Western Australia traded as General Pathology Laboratories. Queensland, Northern Territory and the Australian Capitol Territory commenced operations trading as Healthscope Pathology. In June 2010 all pathology businesses were re-branded as Healthscope Pathology.
Healthscope owns a nationwide presence of medical centres and skin clinics and is currently expanding into Diagnostic Imaging services.
Healthscope was established in 1985 when 21 private investors came together to purchase the Melbourne Clinic. Since 1994 we have been a publicly listed company and are now a dynamic and growing organisation undergoing major redevelopments, business development and acquisitions. We are a preferred employer of health professionals with a diverse, committed and highly skilled workforce of more than 17,000 staff.
