Compliance with our Environmental Legal Obligation
Healthscope is committed to managing our operations in compliance with applicable laws, legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice that minimise any adverse impact on the environment.
As part of our ongoing commitment to a reduction of energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions, Healthscope has registered for the National Greenhouse & Energy Reporting (NGER) scheme and will be providing reports to the Federal Government in 2009. The collection of data from Healthscope’s 400+ facilities will provide a strong foundation for the development of energy efficiency plans. With these plans, Healthscope will also participate in the Commonwealth Government’s Energy Efficiency Opportunities Program.
We will continue to monitor, analyse and audit our environmental performance using the 2009 NGERs submission as our baseline and will benchmark and adopt the best practices from across our organisation.
